What do I need?

What do I need?

Are you going to work in the Netherlands and are you from Poland, Romania or another EEA country? Then you don't need a work permit. There are a few other things you need to take care of:

1 icoon

A passport or identity card

Your passport or identity card must be valid and undamaged at the time you start working. Marquette will check your ID and pass on your details to the Dutch tax authorities.

The client where you will be working may also ask for your proof of identity. So make sure you always have it with you.

2 icoon

A citizen service number (BSN)

To work in the Netherlands, a Dutch citizen service number (BSN) is mandatory. Have you worked in the Netherlands before? Then you probably already have this.

Are you coming to the Netherlands for the first time to work? Then we will help you to get a BSN number. We will make an appointment for this at a municipality in the Netherlands and guide you during the appointment. Applying for and receiving a BSN is free of charge.

3 icoon

A bank account in your name

To start working in the Netherlands, you need a bank account number. It is important that this account is in your own name.

Do you share a bank account with your partner? We can therefore only transfer your salary to your account if you appear as a co-owner of the account.

It is best if you come to the Netherlands with a Polish Euro account. This way you can be sure that you will receive your first salary on time.

4 icoon

Dutch health insurance

Do you work in the Netherlands? Then you are required to take out Dutch health insurance. This is also known as health insurance. This means that you are insured for, for example, treatments in the hospital and the general practitioner.

Marquette can help you get your health insurance. We work with HollandZorg for this purpose. Prefer to choose your own health insurance? Of course, that's also possible.
